United Presbyterian Church - Willow Lake, SD

Welcome to United Presbyterian Church, Willow Lake. We are a caring, Christian community. Mission is our response to God's saving grace in our lives and in God's world. Called to be faithful to the Gospel, we enter into fellowship and worship our Lord through Word, Sacrament, and Prayer. We teach the Word of God through adult and youth Christian Education in our congregation and seek to live it within our community and world. The Lord calls us to reach out, listen, understand, and welcome everyone within our community.

MISSION OUTREACH

In addition to per capita giving which supports the Presbytery, Synod, and Gneral Assembly, our congregation this year supports Presbyterian Mission Agency co-mission workers in Iraq and the For Such a Time As This Program matches rural churches and recent seminary graduates.

We receive the One Great Hour of Sharing, Peacemaking, and Christmas Joy Offerings of the PCUSA each year. This year, offerings from our community Lenten services went to the FFA's Kids against Hunger program.

We regularly support the Clark Food Pantry and special projects such as the Cargill Food Drive.

We teach a Christian Education class for children of the Willow Lake community, offering an after-school program on Wednesdays for 2nd-6th graders.

We offer Vacation Church School to the children of Willow Lake. This year's program was presented by Presbyterian students and recent graduates of SDSU.

We partner and alternate with Grace Lutheran Church in offering the monthly Willow Lake Community Supper the third Monday of each month.

We offer use of our Fellowship Hall to groups in the community free of charge. Organizations, such as the FFA and 4-H club, and groups of concerned citizens, meet here.

Ladies Aid members bring children's clothing, toys, and diapers during their birthday month. These are given to the Alpha Center in Sioux Falls at the end of the year for presentation to new mothers. We made last year's delivery on December 21.

Our Ladies Aid makes quilts, bolsters, and walker bags during the winter months. These are delivered to the nursing homes in Clark and Bryant. On December 21, we also delivered quilts to the Union Gospel Mission in Sioux Falls.

We invite the Gideons to our congregation each year to support their Bible outreach.

Our Ladies Aid presents offerings each year to Presbyterian Women as well as a variety of local social service organizations.
